Custom Sink – We Build These

Milan.wall box sink designThe first sink photo was the sink from Milan. It cost $4500.00+. The second is the custom sink we built. It cost $3000.00. I really love the design and flow (…pardon the pun) of this sink unit.

We didn’t copy it exactly because that wouldn’t have been fair really to the designers and manufacturers in Italy. The need for us to build this sink became apparent when I contacted the manufacturer in Italy to ask if the dimensions could be altered for my client’s application as the stock design was too wide to fit in the powder room of choice. The manufacturer informed me that they did not alter their designs…strike 1…even for an up-charge…strike 2…and presently had no stock of the item anyways so it would be several months before we could even get the stock one – which wouldn’t fit in the first place – soooo…yeah, strike 3.

In situations like this we just seem to automatically go into the “…I wonder…?” mode. I told the client I’d do some research, checked with a good friend / woodworking-manufacturing guru and came up with a plan. We built it because we could…and it gave us the chance to alter the dimensions to the client’s needs (we made it 7” narrower and 2” deeper) as well as create something truly COOL. I mean everybody loves this sink. We’ve received so many compliments on it.

PLACING AN ORDER

 How to be assured your order is processed:

An order must be accompanied by a 50% deposit. Without a deposit the request is not placed in the order que. A properly placed order is followed by a confirmation email for your records. Once the order has been filled and the product is ready for shipping full payment is required. After receiving payment in full your order is shipped and a tracking number is emailed to you for your records.

ORDERING OPTIONS

 Stock dimensions:

11”in high x 45”in. wide x 20”in. deep (front to back).

Bowl depth:

5”in.

Non-Stock Product Dimensions:

We can build the sink unit to your specified dimension if you are not able to use the stock dimension. A minimum customizing fee of $520.00 will be required. We will quote each request individually. A small change may be covered by the customizing fee whereas a larger change will be priced according to our discretion and only once a deposit has been received.

AVAILABLE WOOD TYPES

 Stock choices:

Only linear grain wood species are used for this unit. This is because the long straight grain style of wood accentuates the flow of the sink design. Exotic species that have a strong linear grain such as Zebrano are used in their natural cut whereas domestic and typically non-linear grain species are used in ¼ cut format to create long straight grain effects. We have the following species available as stock: -ZEBRANO -WENGE -BLOODWOOD -IPE -ROSEWOOD -MAHOGANY -JATOBA -BLACK CHERRY -CHESTNUT -MAPLE -WHITE OAK -RED OAK -BLACK WALNUT -ASH -DOUGLAS FIR

      Thx. The wood species is IPE. Its an exotic wood that weathers well in our climate.
